This Privacy Policy applies to the NineE AI mobile application available on Google Play and the NineE AI web application accessible at ninee.ai. It is operated by Octet Design Studio ("we", "us", or "our"). NineE AI is a fashion exploration and product discovery platform where lakhs of fashion products from thousands of brands are listed. We provide personalised recommendations through intelligent search features and a personalised NineE Feed based on your usage patterns and onboarding preferences. By using NineE AI, you agree to the collection and use of information described in this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the app.
1. Information We Collect
We collect information you provide directly and information generated through your use of the app:
- Account Information: Your name, email address, and profile photo when you sign in with Google or create an account manually.
- Onboarding Preferences: Style preferences, gender, age range, favourite categories, and brands selected during onboarding.
- Search & Browsing Data: Search queries, product views, clicks, wishlist additions, and browsing history within the app.
- Voice Input: Audio is captured temporarily when you use voice search. Processed to text immediately — audio is never stored.
- Device & Usage Info: Device type, OS version, app version, IP address, session duration, and crash/diagnostic data.
2. App Permissions Explained
The NineE AI Android app requests the following permissions. You will always be asked for permission before any sensitive feature is used.
Precise Location (ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION)
- Used to provide highly relevant and localized product recommendations, trending styles, and fashion insights based on your current location. Granting this permission helps us improve the relevance of the content shown to you.
- You can continue using the app without granting this permission, although some personalized experiences may be limited.
Approximate Location (ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION)
- Used to determine your general region or city when precise location access is not available. This helps us surface location-relevant products, trends, and recommendations without requiring your exact location.
Microphone (RECORD_AUDIO)
- Activated only when you choose to use Voice Search. The microphone is used to convert your spoken query into text so that you can search products hands-free.
- We do not record, store, or retain your voice recordings after the search is processed.
Internet Access (INTERNET)
- Required to connect to NineE AI services, load products and images, retrieve search results, synchronize account information, and deliver personalized recommendations and content.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use the data we collect exclusively for the following purposes:
- Account & Authentication: To create and manage your NineE AI account, enable Google Sign-In, and keep your session secure.
- Personalised Feed & Recommendations: To generate your NineE Feed and personalised product suggestions based on your style preferences, onboarding selections, and past interactions.
- Product Search & Discovery: To process text and voice search queries and return relevant fashion products from our catalogue of lakhs of products across thousands of brands.
- App Performance & Debugging: To detect crashes, fix bugs, and improve app speed and reliability.
- Security & Fraud Prevention: To detect and prevent unauthorised access, abuse, or fraudulent activity.
- Communications: To send important service notifications such as order updates or security alerts. We do not send marketing communications without your explicit consent.
4. Data Sharing & Third Parties
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only in the following limited circumstances:

5. Personalisation & AI-Powered Features
NineE AI's core value is intelligent fashion discovery. Here is how our personalisation works:
- Onboarding Signals: Style preferences, preferred categories, gender, and brands you select during setup seed your initial feed.
- Behavioural Signals: Products you view, search queries, wishlist additions, and time spent on items are used to continuously refine recommendations.
- NineE Feed: Your personalised feed is generated by our recommendation engine using the above signals. It is unique to your account and updates in real time.
- No Ad Profiling: We do not build advertising profiles or sell behavioural data to advertisers.
6. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your personal information:
- HTTPS/TLS Encryption: All data transmissions between the app and our servers are encrypted.
- Access Controls: Access to user data on our backend is restricted to authorised personnel on a need-to-know basis.
- Regular Security Reviews: We conduct regular security audits of our infrastructure and codebase.
7. Data Retention
We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to provide our services and comply with legal obligations:

8. Your Rights & Choices
You have the following rights regarding your personal data:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you at any time.
- Correction: Update or correct inaccurate information via your account profile or by contacting us.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your account and associated personal data. We will process this within 30 days.
- Opt-Out: Opt out of personalised recommendations or revoke app permissions (location, microphone) at any time.
9. Children's Privacy
NineE AI is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately and we will delete the information.
Users between 13–18 are encouraged to use NineE AI with parental guidance.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as our platform evolves or to reflect changes in legal requirements. When we make significant changes, we will:
- Update the 'Last Updated' date at the top of this page.
- Notify you via an in-app notification or email if the changes are material.
Continued use of the NineE AI app after the updated policy is posted constitutes your acceptance of the changes.
